Joshua Gamboa

Of Counsel

Joshua practices taxation law and sophisticated estate planning. He has written extensively on commercial law issues such as VAT taxes, international import/export tariffs, infrastructure, transportation law, and construction practices in the developing world. Based in New York City, his experience involves advising and counseling a variety of clients including social entrepreneurs, startup businesses, high net-worth individuals, and generational families. Before practicing law, Josh worked in the music industry where he frequented the boardrooms of ASCAP and BMI working with arts industry professionals on issues such as copyright, licensing, contracts, and non-profit issues. 

Josh’s transactional practice focuses on estate law for family planning, wealth transfer, tax strategies, end-of life care, and clients holding unique assets such as cryptocurrency, artwork, start-up shares, and digital property. Beyond estate law, he practices corporate law on matters such as business planning, succession, formation, governance, and compliance.

Josh’s litigation practice involves representing executors, administrators, and trustees in disputes such as breach of fiduciary duty, will and trust contests, administrative issues, and settlement of estates and trusts.

In addition to his law practice, Josh is involved with several bar associations including the American Bar Association Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Section and the New York State Bar Association Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Section. Josh is of counsel to the firm and a member of our affiliated firm of Gamboa + Law, P.C. in New York.
