John Blackshaw

John has over 25 years of international experience in the construction industry. He has lived in Brazil, Germany, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Austria, France and Holland with additional international experience in other European locations. He is Fluent in German (written and spoken), has intermediate Russian language skills and basic French and Spanish language skills. In addition to being a U.K. solicitor, John is a quantity surveyor and has spent many years as a commercial manager and claims consultant on large infrastructure projects.
John’s hands-on experience include residential, roads, rail, industrial, power, water treatment, automotive, commercial, shipping, leisure, telecommunications, public sector and schools. Experienced in budgeting, cost planning, cost analysis breakdowns, tendering/tender evaluation, cost management, programme management, project management, contracts management, claims and dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation, John is well versed in every aspect of commercial and legal control of a project. Further, John has drafted and negotiated many bespoke contracts and has an in depth knowledge of JCT and NEC.
